After nearly three decades of operating around the globe while serving in the U.S. Navy, Ryan “chief” Connor retired and returned home to his small Western town. His childhood had been filled with traditionally American sports: baseball, football, and basketball, but overseas deployments allowed him to experience global sports: the camaraderie of cricket in England, the unity of rugby in South Africa, and the teamwork of volleyball in Thailand.
